RFWC MINISTRIES
At Restoration Family Worship Center, we believe that serving God and others should be a fundamental part of any Christ-centered church. Every believer within this community is responsible to use his or her spiritual gifts, talents and time for honoring God through service/ministry.
Our desire is to see everyone make an impact on others while stretching out to meet needs in the wider community.
For questions about any of the ministries mentioned or for more information on how to get involved, please email us at contactus@rfwc-ag.org
Our Ministries
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
1 Peter 4:10
WAR – Word Assisted Recovery
Word Assisted Recovery was started in 1996 by Pastor Troy Vaughn after graduating from the Union Rescue Mission’s (URM’s) Christian Discipleship Program. He discovered that community churches did not understand the condition of alcoholics and addicts. WAR was formed to partner with local churches in an effort to help educate and destroy barriers where addiction is concerned.
The Twelve Steps
We believe God has given the 12 step program as a way of deliverance from the addictions we have placed ourselves in. We also believe it is a way for those who have lived with alcoholics and addicts to get free.
STEP ONE
We admitted we were powerless over the effects of our separation from God – that our lives had become unmanageable. “I know nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.” (Romans 7:18)
STEP TWO
Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
“For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.” (Philippians 2:13)
STEP THREE
Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God, as we understood Him. “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God -which is your spiritual worship.” (Romans 12:1)
STEP FOUR
Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
“Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord”. (Lamentations 3:40)
STEP FIVE
Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” (James 5:16a)
STEP SIX
Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” (James 4: 10)
STEP SEVEN
humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (I John 1:9)
STEP EIGHT
Made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all. “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” (Luke 6:31)
STEP NINE
Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First, go and be reconciled to your brother, then come and offer your gift.” (Matthew 5:23-24)
STEP TEN
Continued to take personal inventory and, when we were wrong, promptly admitted it. “So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall.”(I Corinthians 10:12)
STEP ELEVEN
Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.” (Colossians 3:16a)
STEP TWELVE
Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to others, and to practice these principles in all our affairs. “Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.”

WOW – Women of WISDOM
The Women’s Ministry of Restoration Family Worship Center seeks to unite women of all ethnic backgrounds who wish to come together and share in the saving knowledge of their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The spiritual transformations we have experienced, and the special rewards of sharing our lives and wisdom with others is the spring board of our ministry. To this end every woman will strive to exhibit the following qualities:
Personal Qualities
- Willingness – She is always willing to come to the aid of others for the sake of Christ.
- Integrity – She is sincere, honest and transparent.
- Serving– She appreciates and supports other’s suggestions.
- Demonstrative – She demonstrates the character of Christ in word and deed.
- Openness – She openly faces and deals with issues and perseveres in the face of problems.
- Motivating – She is a facilitator of other people’s strengths and draws out the best in them.
To this point our women’s ministry is an incredible opportunity to reach beyond the four walls of the church to bring a living Jesus to a dying world! From our mentoring, to prison ministry, outreach and reproducing the character of Christ in the lives of women both young and old continues to be our driving force.
PUMPED “Powerful United Men of Prayer Eternally Devoted”
The mission of Restoration Family Worship Center’s “PUMPED” men’s group is to develop strong prayer lives so that we can be a positive influence in our families, our church, and our community. We commit to developing as men of God through prayer and patience in the areas of integrity, faithfulness, stewardship, and brotherhood. Our vision is to see our communities, cities, country, and world impacted by mighty men of valor who are not afraid to let their light shine so that our Father who is in heaven will be glorified.
Toward this end, the goals of our ministry are:
To establish a prayer network of men that prays without ceasing that our core leadership will be bonded together in a spirit of unity and trust.
To mobilize 300 prayer warriors of mighty men to join with PUMPED in intercessory prayer towards the spiritual battle for souls of the lost.
To place a strong emphasis on the family by making our homes the training ground for all ministries.
Develop regular outings that will promote fellowship and solidify friendships within the collective body of PUMPED.
To develop and maintain strong partnerships with other men’s groups within and without our specific geographical location.
Development of a big brother/elder program as a means of support to single-parent families.
Train and support visionary leaders in the church by encouraging them to seek God for their individual purpose.
Develop a monthly prayer calendar or agenda the will aid in focusing our prayer toward specific needs.

Covenant with each to uphold our pastor and his family in prayer.
OFFC – On Fire For Christ Youth Ministry
This ministry exists to reach the thousands of un-churched youth in our city for Christ. Our youth face many challenges that are unique to their diverse age groups. ICC’s youth ministry exists to DRAW teens to a special relationship with Christ, to OFFER their lives to Him, to BOND them with other Christians and to help them GROW in their faith, moving them to SERVE God.
Their future is our passion!
We believe every young person needs:
- Encouragement to nurture a healthy, vibrant faith in God
• Examples of ongoing relationships with caring adults
• Establishment of safe places with structured activities during non-school hours
• Equipping with marketable skills
• Engaging opportunities to give back through community service
We have responded to the variety of today’s youth subcultures by creating a diversity of ministry models. A clear and compelling mission and a common set of core values unite us.

Angelic Arts Ministry
The Angelic Arts Worship Ministry is designed to help the young and adult alike to develop knowledge and fundamental competencies to effectively minister in any church or ministry using forms of worship language through dance, music, puppet shows and drama. Drama has proven to be an effective tool to educate, illustrate or enhance a relevant point in our ministry.
Entertainment & Use of God-given Gifts. Churches traditionally stage events for entertainment or fellowship value, such as Christmas concerts or Easter pageants. The blessing is two-fold:
(1) The event demonstrates the power of the celebration arts to an appreciative audience; and
(2) Performers, directors, writers, designers, administrators, etc., have the opportunity to contribute their artistic talents for the glory of God.
BOS – Being Of Service Ministry
BOS is the Ministry of Helps component to Restoration Family Worship Center. It is designed to demonstrate why God wants every believer to be an active part of their local church body and actively serving in ministry. BOS also uses Scripture to show believers how they can effectively operate as a minister of helps. A 6-week course is required for any person desiring to serve in a ministry of RFWC and will help church members understand our Church’s expectations of those who serve in its ministries.

Upper Room Prayer Ministry (URPM)
URPM is an intercessory prayer ministry staffed by Christian volunteers from our ministry and partners. When you send in your prayer request, a person will be assigned to your prayer request and will commit to pray with you for a period of 21 days. More than 10,000 prayer requests are received each month. To protect the privacy of those requesting prayer, each request is edited before it is sent to Covenant Prayer Partners. The request is edited to remove any information that would identify the person or situation needing prayer.
We are asking God to increase this very vital ministry to 300 Covenant Prayer Partners by the end of 2006. If you would like to learn about being a partner, please contact partners@sbcglobal.net, and someone from our ministry will respond within 24hrs.

What is the Family Focus Group Ministry?
________________________________________
The Family Focus Group Ministry at Restoration Family Worship Center is a cell group committed to helping form Christ-centered communities within the larger church community – really they’re mini-churches within the big church.
We realize it’s easy to become a faceless number in the larger crowd during weekend services, so we believe small groups are key to a healthy church.
I like to compare a small group to a lifeboat on a cruise ship. The weekend service and our church directory are made up of a lot of people you don’t know, like a cruise ship. You’re small group however becomes a lifeboat when times get tough, or in the middle of a demanding week. A small group creates opportunities to be known and to know others and promotes spiritual growth and Christ-centered friendship.
The word cell implies that these small groups grow and multiply, therefore helping make room for others who desire to grow and form Christ-centered friendships. Like a healthy cell in the body, a cell group may meet for up to two years then divide into new small groups so that others in the church can benefit from its ministry.
Small cell group members meet regularly in order to apply the Bible to everyday living, develop Christ-centered relationships, and encourage one another towards Christ-likeness.

Why a Cell Group Ministry?
________________________________________
The Believers in the book of Acts met both in large group settings (“publicly”) and in small group settings (“from house to house”) (Acts 2:46; 5:42; 20:20). The early church knew that people grow best when it’s balanced with the need for a large group (for celebration) and a small group (for community). At RFWC we are working hard at helping people to come to Jesus and become like Him. We believe this happens best when people interact with others in a small group. As our church grows larger, we must also become smaller through a small “cell” group ministry. This will enable our church to become a healthy, living church of people growing in Christ and authentic relationships.

Who can participate?
________________________________________
We encourage anyone that desires to seek God and develop authentic, healthy relationships – no matter your religious background – to join a cell group.
________________________________________
Who leads a cell group and where do they meet?
________________________________________
Cell groups are led by people from ICC. Most cell groups meet in area homes on an evening that works best for individual group members. If you’d like to find out more about becoming a cell group host please pick up a brochure at the Information Table.
________________________________________
Can I get in a group at any time,
or do they only start at certain times?
________________________________________
There are current, ongoing groups that are often times looking to include new people. Please visit the cell group map in the commons to find out where and when groups are meeting. Sometimes however we may need to put you on a waiting list until we are able to find a group that shares similar life-stage characteristics or start a new group with a new leader. We also host 2 small group connections throughout the year – one in the fall and one at mid-winter. Small group connections are a one hour social event designed to help connect you to new or existing small groups.
________________________________________
Will I get “stuck” in a group that I don’t want to be in?
________________________________________
No. You can simply “test-drive” a group for 6-8 weeks and decide to continue or discontinue attending.
